Mark Warner’s shame

Trying to steal people’s retirement.

The US has a fiat currency, there is no deficit crisis.

Attention Mark Warner, if you actually can prove there is a deficit crisis, you can win $100 million for the US treasury. Guess what, you won’t even try, because you know that deficit hysteria is a hoax. You are such a one termer.

Edit – on the other hand, maybe voters in Virginia like politicians who steal their Social Security.

Debunking the Steal Our Retirement Commission

What Howie said:

The deficit hawks at the Peterson Foundation are at it again: attacking Social Security and Medicare with their false economic notions, this time with a “Fiscal Summit” to “Discuss Nation’s Rising Deficits and Debt.

We have a massive need for a counter-narrative to the false but conventional notion that Federal deficit spending is bad, that it is a burden to the next generation, that deficit spending risks insolvency — basically that the Federal Government Budget is some how analogous to a household budget when, in fact, it is no such thing.

Could have told you and we did

What were you thinking? Obama was using the Social Security Crisis talking point as long ago as November 2007. He is from the University of Chicago, the epicenter of disaster capitalism. Employees of Golden Sacks were his second highest contributor.

Don’t look now – but they really do sound like they are going to do the insane thing. Go read everything Digby says about the administration’s threats to Social Security, and then call your Senators and Congresscreature and tell them you do not want our country to commit economic suicide. Then write to the media and explain that Social Security is funded, and it’s just about the only thing left that is. (PS. The Baby-Boom generation had children, too – there is no giant baby-bust to justify the canard that there aren’t enough workers to support Social Security. There are enough workers. But there won’t be enough jobs if our legislators keep cutting our legs out from under us – and screwing up Social Security with conservative “reforms” would certainly do that.) Oh, yeah, mention this to every person you encounter who is over the age of 50, no matter who they are. It’s amazing how many people hate everything about liberalism except Social Security (although they think SS has nothing to do with liberalism or the government).
