Question for the single payer folks?

Just a simple question: How much will it cost (to the nearest $100 million) to make the transition to single payer and how long will it take (to the nearest quarter)?

A single payer system would save the US $350 BILLION a year. This is calculated by comparing the costs of administering Medicare versus the administrative costs of private health care insurers.
