I rarely read rumproast and basically know the blogger only from their comments at Booman, and I rarely read Booman; but rumproast strikes me as an Obama enforcer.

Well, I am a co-blogger at Rumproast, and I can tell you that, although all of us were Obama supporters, we’re not Obama enforcers. When one of his policies pisses us off, we complain about it.

Another thing that might surprise you is that all of us at Rumproast (I think) favor a single-payer system and think the Dems’ approach has been way too timid and incremental. Since you rarely read the blog, I guess you wouldn’t know that. But hey, don’t let that stop you from leaping to the next conclusion.

People like that have no idea how they come across outside of their narrow circle, and heaven forfend that anyone hold up a mirror.

Ain’t that the truth. Might want to take a look in that mirror yourself there, pal.

Well, I work for the state. We haven’t had a decent raise sine 2000. SInce the legislator voted in “pay for performance” promising it would not end py raises. We did not get any raise this year, and instead are taking four furlough days between now and Jan.1. One of which is tomorrow. We are laying off 260 state emloyees, closing several state parks, clsoing the women’s prison, closing two mental health clinics, etc. So, I’m not worried that Federal employess are biting the bullet , too. Christmas is going to be pretty lean at my house.

Four days off makes a house payment. Or rent since I lost my house this year to a crroked banker. But, I won’t get laid off. I’m supposed to be grateful. My boss is quitting and someone has to do her job. With a freeze on hiring, that would be me. With an overtinme freeze. I get to do more for less.

I know Federal worker deserve a raise. I know they work hard, but so do I. I didn’t elect this president and Ritter has been turning his back on Labor all year. He might lose a big vote block next year if we all wtay home.

Mr. Hense, don’t you think it is to later to cover it up now. THe statement you made about the mother’s of students at Anacostia came from you. You did not think that any parents from Anacostia was there when you made the statement. All you want to do is to get money from tax payers.You tell people that you educate students across the city, but you dont tell them that you put students out of your schools after you get money from the city for them.You take about community and how to improve there educational and life so, why did one of your staff member’s follow a female student of Anacostia to the rest room and flim her going in and comming out. Is this what your staff is going to educate the students of Anacostia on.

The report that you make on a statement purportedly made by me is patently untrue and is an injustice to the debate that should be taking place in our community about how to improve educational and life outcomes for children.

Friendship currently educates more than 1000 students from Ward Eight who travel to our schools in Wards Five, Six and Seven. We are opening the second of two schools this fall in Ward Eight — in other words we are heavily invested in the success of children and families in that Ward.

Friendship hopes to offer programs that were traditional vehicles to the middle class — health technologies, fire, police and EMS, and computer technology, among them. The road to the middle class was disrupted when crack devastated OUR communities. We must work to mend the pathways again. The programs we propose are in high demand in our area, yet few DC graduates are prepared to take advantage of employment opportunities. Let’s keep the debate about making life better for our children.
